Friday, January 16, 2026 . On September 1, 2025, the Court received a petition from a coalition of American citizens gathered in sovereign constitutional assemblies.

Their petition asked for an international legal judgment concerning the criminal conduct of Donald J. Trump and the validity of the American presidential election of November 5, 2024. In accordance with the Court’s formative mandate of June 15, 2010, which allows it to adjudicate criminal matters in any nation, the Court accepted the petition and since then has investigated the issues it raised.

Throughout its work, the Court has relied on American legal precedents, constitutional statutes, congressional investigations, and the principles of international law governing the criminal liability of heads of state. This legal judgment is the result of that investigation. It is issued with the solemn recognition that it is the right and obligation of free people everywhere to defend democracy and assist in the overthrow of tyranny. This matter has assumed even greater weight since the Court accepted the petition because of recent acts of war and international piracy committed by Donald Trump against Venezuela and other non-belligerent nations, as well as new evidence received by the Court that indicates Donald Trump’s criminal complicity in the trafficking, disappearance, and death of children and others.
